These are the shareholders funds contributed by all members of the society. Each member is entitled to dividend as at the end of each calendar year, established by the share ownership.

Characteristics of Share Capital

1. Non withdrawable but transferrable
2. Transfers are done to among members only
3. Each share costs Ksh 500
4. Each member should own a minimum of 10 shares
5. Restricted to maximum 20% of the total share capital contribution
6. Mandatory for all full members
